Tuesday, July 24, PM. HTH Regards Andrew. Wednesday, July 25, AM. Hi Lawrence Unfortunately was installed on my exchange servers. I am not having any issues that I know about, at least nothing has happened since it was installed December months ago Can you tell me, if I run the fixit that removes the certificates, will it break my exchange servers or will they automatically download the required certs through the root certificate update mechanism built in windows r2.
I want to remove the event id that is being generated in the system log. Monday, June 10, AM. Can you tell me, if I run the fixit that removes the certificates I don't know anything about a fixit that removes certificates. Load up the Certificates MMC and delete the ones you don't need. I suspect if they've already been synchronized, and then you delete them, they will not be replaced again.
I want to remove the event id that is being generated in the system log What EventID? I thought you just said that you're not having any issues? Monday, June 10, PM. Lawrence Maybe i didn't explain myself very well My Exchange Servers are showing an event This seems to relate to having the KB installed on those servers by accident due to microsoft accidentally making them available for servers and i have approved them via WSUS.
Is this safe to do, guess im just being over overcautious Thanks Chris. Proposed as answer by rhess Monday, October 20, PM.

Once you have generated a CSR you can use it to order the certificate from a certificate authority. Once you paste the contents of the CSR and complete the ordering process, your order is validated, and you will receive the SSL certificate file.
To install your newly acquired SSL certificate in IIS 7, first copy the file somewhere on the server and then follow these instructions:. Most SSL providers issue server certificates off of an Intermediate certificate so you will need to install this Intermediate certificate to the server as well or your visitors will receive a Certificate Not Trusted Error. You can install each Intermediate certificate sometimes there is more than one using these instructions:. You may need to restart IIS so that it starts giving out the new certificate.
You can verify that the certificate is installed correctly by visiting the site in your web browser using https instead of http or using our SSL Checker. Buy from the highest-rated provider Buy DigiCert Certificate x.
Click on the name of the server in the Connections column on the left. Double-click on Server Certificates. In the Actions column on the right, click on Create Certificate Request In the Value field, type a contact email address.
Optional On the Subject tab, in the Alternative name box, enter subject alternative names if you need them these can also be requested when you submit the CSR. Optional If you want to restrict how this certificate can be used, you can select the appropriate options under Key usage and Extended Key Usage on the Extensions tab.
Make sure no other options are selected. This option is usually at the end of the list. On the Private Key tab, expand Key Options. In the Key size menu, select a value of at least Select Make private key exportable. This step is only required if you will use this certificate on another computer e. Mozilla Firefox. Choose a file name and location for the CSR. Select Base Click Finish. Export your cert from the computer certificate store.
Proceed to the next dialog. Choose to export the private key since you need to restore it together with the certificate. You should include all certificates in the certification path if possible, in case there are chained certificates that need to be present for the target certificate to work.
